MC Roofing reached out to Jade Aden Interiors as they were looking for a company that could design and install a bespoke office space for their team.
The company constructs commercial and residential roofing across the south of England. They often work collaboratively with their clients, so they were looking for a space where they could welcome clients with pride.
Additionally, the space needed to be functional, helping them get their work done efficiently yet still allowing the team to interact and work together when needed.
What We Did
Jade Aden Interiors worked closely with Ryan, one of the MC Roofing Directors, to design and install a bespoke office that met all his needs.
Ryan was looking for a workspace that would help him separate his work from his home life. He was struggling to step away from work at the end of the day, so he needed somewhere he could dedicate his working hours away from home life so that he could leave it behind when the clock hit home time.
When designing the open-plan office, we balanced branding with a modern look and feel.
In completing the office-fit-out, we installed a feature wall with a high-quality image that represented the industry they work in. This added texture, dimension and interest to the space, making it a welcoming area that draws you in.
We needed to implement an optimal desk setup that made the most of the space yet allowed for movement, collaboration and additional bodies in the office. We fitted two desks, back to back, to facilitate ease of conversation yet create separate work areas to increase focus and productivity.
As with any workspace, lighting was important because it can be the difference between feeling comfortable or uncomfortable.
We didn’t want to over-light the area with artificial lighting, so we decided to install a wall light fixture and a halo LED light above the desks. These solutions are energy efficient, concentrating the light where it needs to be in a soft manner.
Communication throughout this process was pivotal because Ryan and the team were often busy working on various sites providing their service. As part of our project management, we ensured that Ryan knew what was going on, providing him feedback on what had been completed and what was left to do.
The End Result
The result of this project was a “lovely, brilliant space” that allowed the client to separate his home life from his work life.
Now Ryan and his colleagues have “a comfortable environment to go over and collaborate with clients on future projects.”
