New headquarters and interior design for Parvalux
Client: Parvalux
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
We recently assisted Parvalux, a company specialising in manufacturing electric motors, with their office renovation, transforming the headquarters and production facility into a state-of-the-art complex.
Parvalux started trading in 1947, selling motor rewinds. Then, in 1961 the company moved to Bournemouth and expanded their services to designing and making gear-motor units for industrial uses. Since then, they have grown significantly, having been acquired by Swiss company Maxon. The company now has over 200 staff and has gone global, exporting 40% of their products worldwide. As they celebrate their 75th anniversary, Parvalux is looking to move into its newly amalgamated headquarters and UK factory.
When it came to the layout and functionality of the new space, Parvalux had a specific vision; they were looking for a unique setup that combined smart offices for their headquarters and a purpose-driven area for the staff members that accommodated their needs. The new office fit-out, driven by a desire to enhance production efficiency and sustainability, had to not only be aesthetically pleasing but also highly practical, enabling the teams to work effectively. Moreover, in alignment with these objectives, all the participating companies collaborated to construct a building designed to be net-zero and sustainable for the future, solidifying our status as the ideal interior design partner for this project.
What We Did
To achieve an office fit-out that met the needs and desires of Parvalux, we provided four services; partitions, ceilings, toilet cubicles and joinery.
We started with a blank canvas and needed to separate the office space into various areas, creating meeting rooms and private offices that were apart from the desks where employees worked and a social space that could be used without distracting those working. As we offer customisable office partitions, we were able to help Parvalux maximise the space in a way that truly works for them and that allowed for efficient working to keep up with their global demand and reach.
Throughout the office, we used doubled-glazed partitions to create private office spaces and meeting rooms. We also installed jumbo stud partitions to segregate the factory and working area, as well as cubicle partitions in the bathrooms.
Suspended ceilings were a big part of this office fit-out, as we needed to help the company maintain an appropriate level of noise across the office and factory. Suspended ceilings are a great way to influence the impact of noise within a building. It was also important that the office space was well-lit. Our expertise knew that illuminated suspended ceilings were the best solution, as they would help control noise and provide the right amount of light needed.
The final service we provided for the office refurbishment was joinery, adding doors, skirting boards, and architrave to finish off offices and meeting rooms, as well as adding duct sets to the toilet cubicles.
The End Result
Having completed the office fit-out, the project was a brand new 160,000-square-foot factory for the client. The office space was divided into meeting rooms, offices and a social space that was completed with catering for all Parvalux’s employees and their needs.
